FA Women’s Championship club Southampton FC Women has set a new ticket sales record ahead of its Continental Cup game against Women’s Super League (WSL) club Arsenal.
Some 8,800 tickets have been sold for the match, meaning the club could also beat its current attendance record of 8,121.
The game is set to be played at the 32,000-capacity St Mary’s Stadium, which is also home to the men’s side. Saints Women plays all of its home games at the stadium, after turning professional following promotion to the second tier of women’s football in England.
Tickets are available for £5 (€6/$6) for adults and £1 for under-18s, as the club looks to reach a target of 10,000.
Due to the popular demand for hospitality tickets to the Arsenal match, the club has also opened its Staplewood Lounge alongside the Saints Bar, which also includes a child-friendly option for families.
The Saints Bar and Staplewood Lounge offers lounge access two hours before the game, at half-time and for an hour post-match. One drink and one course is included, priced at £20 for an adult and £10 for a child.
Further hospitality options include The Halo, which allows fans to dine alongside the Southampton FC Women board and special guests in the club’s pitch-facing Halo lounge.
The Continental Cup game against Arsenal will take place on November 23.
