Tixbase has been chosen as the exclusive ticketing provider for the Sarajevo Festival of Lights (not pictured), which began over the weekend at the botanical garden of the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The ticketing platform, which utilises blockchain technology, has also agreed to purchase 2,000 festival tickets to be distributed among students, charities and those in need.

Chief executive and founder Emil R. Ljesnjanin said in a LinkedIn post that the platform was making the ticketing donation “with the aim of making cultural enjoyment accessible to everyone”.

Not only this, but Ljesnjanin added that Tixbase will contribute a portion of its ticket service proceeds to the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The first edition of the Sarajevo Festival of Lights was opened on Saturday night, and will run over the next three months until March 1.

As reported by Bosnian outlet Klix, deputy director of the museum Ana Marić claimed the income from the event will help the restoration of the southern section of the botanical garden.

Tixbase rebranded earlier this year and was previously known as NFT-TiX.
