For its recently completed The Honda Classic 2020 tournament, golf’s PGA Tour utilised Ticketure – a flexible, ultra-modern general admission ticketing platform from TixTrack.
The PGA TOUR event – won in thrilling fashion by South Korean Sungjae Im at Palm Beach Gardens in Florida – achieved the second highest attendance mark in tournament history. The event attracted 206,384 spectators over seven days of perfect weather and great competition spanning from the Monday Pro-Am to Sunday’s final round, slightly more than the 204,487 who attended the tournament in 2019.
The event was named the “Most Fan First” event on the PGA TOUR in 2019 with a key focus in 2020 of improving the consumer purchase experience. In its partner solution from TixTrack the event organisers gained enhanced on-line and in-person ticket sales for the tournament’s wide range of individual and package offerings.
Andrew George, Tournament Director of The Honda Classic said: “Consumer preferences related to large-scale events is changing more rapidly than ever before. It was extremely important for us to partner with a platform that was flexible and adaptive. TixTrack found new creative ways for the tournament to sell and distribute our tickets, leading to record-breaking sales during the event.”
He continued: “TixTrack’s innovative software and their personal management of our account leading up to tournament – and on-site during the week of our event – was remarkable. We are extremely happy with the results and look to take advantage of more of TixTrack’s capabilities next year.”
Steven Sunshine, TixTrack’s Co-Founder and CEO said: “When we founded TixTrack in ’08 our objective was to bring a new brand of rigorous thinking and science to the business of live entertainment ticketing. We were fortunate to secure some major clients who we have worked with in partnership to develop new and innovative software to meet their needs. We are thrilled to have partnered with The Honda Classic to provide world-class ticketing to its fans.”
