People on the Move: Ticketmaster Spain, Lyte and more

We round up the latest appointments within the ticketing ecosystem, including news from Ticketmaster Spain, Lyte and Audience Republic…

Ticketmaster Spain has announced the departure of general manager Eugeni Calsamiglia after more than two decades in the role.

Ana Valdovinos will be his replacement after a decade as the operator’s financial director.

Valdovinos has a degree in Economics and an MBA from ESADE Business School and has more than 20 years of experience holding management positions in organisations such as Arthur Andersen, Lear Corporation and Serviticket.

Calsamiglia will continue to be linked to Ticketmaster Spain as an advisor to the board of directors.

CTS Eventim has appointed former Live Nation executive Jason Miller to lead its new Eventim Live Asia division.

Miller, who will serve as chief executive, previously led all touring activity for Live Nation Entertainment’s Asia and Middle East offices and held the position of senior vice-president of international and emerging markets. Miller produced 80% of the last decade’s highest-grossing Asian tours for western artists, including Bruno Mars and U2 before stepping down last summer.

Miller said: “The pandemic has created unprecedented global demand for live music and shared experience. With Asia representing over half of the world’s population and its fastest-growing middle class, there is no better time or place to be launching an event promotion company.”

Zahid Zakaria (pictured centre) has been appointed vice president of operations and customer strategy at Lyte.

Zakaria joins Lyte after working in insights and analytics and customer success operations at the software company Yext alongside Lyte’s new president, Wendi Sturgis. Zakaria will lead the development of Lyte’s roadmap, insights, and foundations of sales and success measures.

Lyte chief executive Ant Taylor said: “Zahid’s work will help us refine the algorithm and lead to many, many more happy fans and full venues.”

Event marketing software company Audience Republic has appointed former Patron Technology president Brian Arnone as chief revenue officer.

Arnone’s work at Patron Technology included leading sales, marketing and account management teams of 250 people. He served on the company’s senior leadership team, acquiring companies in the realms of ticketing, mobile apps, experiential marketing, logistics software, and cashless RFID. He has also held leadership roles at Ticketfly and Showclix.

“For Audience Republic, we’re targeting fast growth,” Arnone said. “As we continue our expansion, we’ll be opening ourselves up to additional segments in music, sport and entertainment, as well as growing our teams in North America and Europe.”

Live Nation has named Cindy Agi (left) as its newest global tour promoter within its concerts team.

Agi, formerly the co-head of the hip-hop department at WME, will be responsible for building relationships with global touring artists and booking major international tours around the globe.

“I’m thrilled to be joining the amazing team that has made Live Nation into the incredible business it is today,” said Agi. “With events returning, we’re entering an exciting new chapter, and I’m looking forward to contributing to the company’s continued evolution through impactful initiatives.”

Nederlander Concerts has added Kate Guarrieri (right), formerly with Live Nation, to its talent booking team.

Guarrieri brings over a decade of talent buying, marketing, and project management experience to the independent event promotion firm, having worked with the likes of Foo Fighters during her time at Live Nation.

In her new role, Guarrieri will work with the talent booking team to program Nederlander’s core venues, including Vina Robles Amphitheatre in Paso Robles. Additionally, she will seek new regional and national tour opportunities to include arenas and all other venue sizes.

“Kate’s national touring experience is a perfect fit to expand our booking department’s efforts,” said Alex Hodges, chief executive of Nederlander Concerts. “As we continue to add venues, route, and curate tours, it is essential to enhance our team with seasoned professionals, and we are thrilled Kate is joining our team.”
