Major UK arena issues tender with aim to find new ticketing provider by end of next month

The venue is inviting suppliers for the provision, installation and on-going support of its ticketing system.

Suppliers will also have to deal with the joint-located Motorpoint Arena Nottingham’s varied events schedule.

In a release, management said: “We are open to exploring all possible options, including outsourced, in-house and hybrid models of ticketing solutions.”

Nottingham Ice Centre is located in the city centre of the English city and also counts the 10,000-capacity Motorpoint Arena Nottingham within its portfolio, which caters for live entertainment, comedy and sport throughout the year.

All arena events require ticketed admission, meaning a sophisticated, flexible and robust ticketing system is needed for the day-to-day operation of the venue.

Stephen Chaston, head of arena operations, told TheTicketingBusiness.com: “We are excited to be able to launch our ticketing system tender this month, the Motorpoint Arena Nottingham hosts a wide range of events including sport, live music, comedy, family shows and Ice Hockey, with a maximum capacity of 10,500.

“With over 25 Ice Hockey matches and 140 event nights a year, this presents an exciting opportunity for any interested ticketing providers to showcase their products, whether this be an inhouse provided model, fully outsourced or a hybrid of the two.”

He added: “We are looking for an innovative, industry leading ticket solution that can not only maximise ticket sales for every event, but also provide an outstanding customer experience to our users, as well as provide a reliable and robust platform for our event management, hospitality, CRM systems and promoter functions.”

The ticketing tender process opened on Thursday September 15 with the submission deadline falling on Friday October 7 at 17:00 GMT.

Tenderers will be expected to demonstrate their services between Monday 10 and Wednesday October 26.

Nottingham Ice Centre Ltd intends to award the contract on Friday October 28.
