Destination Sport Group (DSG) has announced the acquisition of FA and Manchester City hospitality partner Sportsworld.
According to a statement issued by DSG, the Sportsworld business — which is also based in Manchester — will continue to be led by managing director Nathan Wilson. No financial details were issued regarding the acquisition.
Sportsworld is the official travel partner to The FA and also counts Manchester City among its clients.
Founded in 1980, Sportsworld specialises in the design and delivery of international hospitality and travel programmes for sponsors, corporations, spectators and governing bodies at major international events such as Olympic Games, FIFA World Cup, UEFA Champions League and The Championships, Wimbledon.

As the official travel partner to The FA, Sportsworld is responsible for arranging travel programmes for England national men’s and women’s teams. It delivers supporter travel services to Manchester City for European competitions plus official ticket and hotel breaks for all home fixtures.
DSG has more than 200 staff in 14 countries around the world, and its services include travel management for elite sports clubs and governing bodies, supporter travel, youth development tours, endurance and participation travel plus global destination management. It recently acted as the official travel management partner for the Premier League Summer Series in the US.
