Citizen Ticket, an event ticketing and bookings platform headquartered in Edinburgh, has acquired TicketSellers and Eventree.
TicketSellers was founded more than two decades ago, and works with festivals and events across the UK. Current clients include Shambala Festival, End of the Road Festival, Southampton International Boat Show and more.
The acquisition also includes TicketSellers’ accreditation software Eventree, a software system for medium to large-scale festival events which is utilised by the likes of Glastonbury Festival, Parklife, Isle of Wight, Reading & Leeds, Lost Village and Download.
Additionally, the acquisition will see key individuals from TicketSellers take on board and senior positions within Citizen Ticket. TicketSellers founder Mo (Melissa) Jones will become Citizen Ticket chairman, while Phil Hayes – who is currently chief executive of TicketSellers – will take on the role of chief product officer. Liz Cobley will become operations director at the newly expanded company.
“We are thrilled to become part of Citizen Ticket, marking a new chapter in our journey. This acquisition opens the door to unparalleled opportunities, enabling us to enhance our services and reach new heights together. We’re excited for the synergies and innovation that this partnership promises for our clients and our future,” commented Hayes.
“This deal brings together an increased roster of renowned clients, genuinely innovative and market leading software, in the case of Eventree and above all, some highly credible and intelligent individuals with an undeniable track record in ticketing, software and events,” added Harry Boisseau, Citizen Ticket CEO.
While a press release did not state the specific number, it was revealed that the acquisition was the result of a multiple seven-figure deal executed through a combination of cash and equity.
