Organisers of the Solomon Islands 2023 Pacific Games have said that ticket sales have picked up prior to the beginning of the multi-sport event.

According to a report from Insidethegames, ticketing revenue supervisor Mike Vereseni reported that tickets for the opening ceremony were the most purchased and in demand.

Vereseni added that organisers are expecting opening ceremony tickets to run out soon, based on purchase rate.

Tickets for Solomon Islands 2023 Pacific Games went on sale earlier this month, with an official launch event attended by Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare. The Prime Minister was the first to purchase a ticket to the event.

In August, a handing-over ceremony was held for a new national stadium in the Solomon Islands, which will serve as a hub for the Pacific Games. The 10,000-capacity venue was handed over by the Chinese Government, which developed the venue.

The stadium project was completed in 26 months, and was handed over in a ceremony attended by Prime Minister Sogavare and Li Ming, the Chinese ambassador to the Solomon Islands.

The Pacific Games will take place from November 19 to December 2 in Honiara, the capital of the Solomon Islands.
