SeatGeek has announced ticketing deal extensions with long-time Major League Soccer (MLS) partners Minnesota United and Portland Timbers.

SeatGeek’s modern technology and philosophy of continuous innovation were key reasons for the clubs’ extension choices.

Each entering an eighth year of partnership, MNUFC and the Timbers were two of the first clubs in MLS to partner with SeatGeek back in 2017. Since then, the high-growth technology platform transforming the live event experience for fans has significantly expanded its footprint in the league, growing its primary ticketing partnerships to encompass eight MLS teams.

This sustained expansion and the recent extension stand as a testament to SeatGeek’s modern tech stack and its ability to deliver superior fan experiences.

“Aligning with a company like SeatGeek, whose ethos resonates with our commitment to our fans, has been pivotal,” said Bryant Pfeiffer, Minnesota United executive vice president and chief revenue officer. “Their cutting-edge technology and fan-first approach have been game changers, enhancing every aspect of the game day experience. We’re excited to continue this journey together, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in sports entertainment.”

Timbers chief revenue officer Joe Cote said: “Producing an exceptional matchday experience is a main priority of the Timbers, and SeatGeek’s partnership has been a major factor in achieving that over the years.

“Their innovative approach to ticketing sets us up for success and allows us to build community around soccer.”

SeatGeek expands across leagues

SeatGeek’s strategic expansions and partnerships across major sports leagues, music, theatre, and beyond – including partnerships across the NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, MLS, and the English Premier League – underscore the flexibility and appeal of SeatGeek’s platform. Just last year, SeatGeek renewed its partnerships with the NBA’s New Orleans Pelicans and the NWSL’s Kansas City Current and embarked on its inaugural seasons as the primary ticketing technology provider for the NHL’s Florida Panthers and the NBA’s Utah Jazz.

“Our journey in MLS has been a story of innovation and success, constantly pushing the boundaries to provide an improved fan experience,” said Russ D’Souza, co-founder of SeatGeek. “We’re proud to see our technology not just meeting, but exceeding expectations, as we continue to redefine what a ticketing platform can do for fans and partners alike.”
