Appointments round-up: Learfield IMG College, Eventbrite and more

This week, Learfield IMG College has hired former Ticketmaster and Live Nation executive Cole Gahagan as its new president of content, revenue and enterprise solutions.

In his new role, which is effective in January 2020, Gahagan will oversee the company’s collegiate multimedia rights content and sales, as well as its suite of services, including ticketing, licensing and venue technology enterprises.

Nashville-based promoter Outback Presents announced the appointment of Jenny Reid as ticketing manager. Reid joins the promoter from ticketing firm Eventbrite, where she worked in client operations as manager of venue success.

Speaking of Eventbrite, the company has appointed Josh McNicol to the role of general manager for Asia Pacific region. He will direct a team across Australia, New Zealand and Singapore, responsible for powering more than 330,000 events in the region last year.

In the last 12 months, Eventbrite entered Asia by launching a localised platform in Singapore and Hong Kong, and expanded its presence in New Zealand. Eventbrite’s APAC team, which has grown by 25 per cent in the last year, served more than 60,000 event creators and processed more than 17 million tickets to more than 330,000 events in 2018.

Meanwhile, cloud-based event payment platform TicketCo have appointed Paul Carey (pictured) as key account manager in UK. He is a former general manager of Rewind Festival and has joined TicketCo to drive growth in its UK festival division.

Carey said: “I’m joining TicketCo at an exciting time, the company is making excellent progress in taking the UK ticketing and event payments market into the new digital world. There is so much scope to drive positive change in the festival industry and TicketCo will continue to be one of the front runners of the digital disruption in the coming years.”
