Temperature screening: First line of defence

Renowned for its high-speed, thermal ticketing printers that are the mainstay of many box offices, TLS-Boca Systems has expanded its product range to include a Temperature Sensing Kiosk, along with non-contact thermometers.

“As people are reporting back to work and venues slowly start to open up to customers again, temperature screening looks set to become one of the methods to limit the spread of viruses, such as COVID-19,” says Joeri Braams, Managing Partner, TLS-Boca Systems.

The Rotterdam-based company is offering a Temperature Sensing Kiosk (either as a freestanding or counter-top unit) through its international network of subsidiaries, backed with the same Technical Support that has kept its printer operation going since 1995.

The system is equipped with an infrared temperature sensor/detector and provides an alert if an individual is running a fever. The firm also offers non-contact Infrared Thermometers which can be used to screen individuals without physical contact.

“Like most businesses in the ticketing sector, TLS-Boca Systems is trying to stay alive and in order to do so we have to diversify into new products that our clients will need,” says Braams. “This first layer of screening can curb the spread of virus, as well as prevent costly and time-consuming contamination clean-up.”
