NFTs and heavy metal

Metal band Avenged Sevenfold has minted one million NFTs (non-fungible tokens) for their alternate reality game (ARG), and ‘Life is But a Dream…’ album announcement and single release. In March last year, Avenged Sevenfold partnered with Ticketmaster to offer fans NFT-gated pre-sale tickets for their tour dates in the US and Canada. 

A switch to digital

Grand Theater in Wausau, Wisconsin has introduced digital ticketing. Patrons will be able to view their new digital tickets on their mobile device, and easily share tickets with friends and family. Customers will also still be able to print or pick up tickets if they wish. 

Unique fan experiences

The Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) and Rogers Communications have announced a partnership to provide behind-the-scenes content, unique fan experiences and opportunities for girls in minor hockey to connect with professional players. The PWHL is a new women’s ice hockey league for North America, and yesterday (Tuesday) set an attendance record for the match between PWHL Ottawa and PWHL Montreal.
