Tixr, a primary ticketing and event commerce marketplace, is set to serve as the primary ticketing platform for Mercer University Athletics and Mercer University Ticket Sales (MTS), which is the central hub for all ticketed performances at Townsend School of Music, Mercer Theatre and all events at The Grand Opera House.
The new partnership will enable Mercer Athletics and MTS to transition to a digital ticketing system, powered by Tixr technology for students at the Macon, Georgia university. In addition to Mercer University branding, patrons will also have access to a user-friendly interface for browsing, reserved seat selection and seamless mobile experience for making purchases and managing tickets.
Chas Pridgen, Mercer Ticket Sales’ director of patron services, said: “Tixr has already proven to be a great solution for ticketing our ambitious slate of events. The flexibility this new platform provides means we can transition easily from sports, to arts performances, to festivals and more.
“The technological advancements they bring to the table make them a great partner for us, and they will streamline every aspect of the patron experience. We are elated that Mercer Ticket Sales has partnered with Tixr, and I cannot wait for our patrons and clients to experience this huge step forward regarding their ticketing needs.”
Tixr’s Chase Bloch added: “Like most modern higher learning institutions, the athletic and arts events held by Mercer University provide an important touchpoint for its students, its faculty and alumni.
“College ticketing needs a major upgrade from legacy ticketing providers especially with how brand-focused colleges and universities have become. We’re thrilled to empower Mercer with the ability to show off their school colours in a modern and innovative way that truly represents their brand.”
Tixr was also recently named as the preferred primary ticketing partner of the American Association of Professional Baseball.
