Australian ticketing company Intix has enabled events to accept payments via smartphone.

Intix has enabled the ability to use a smartphone to accept ticket payments to help reduce costs for event organisers, improve efficiency and enhance customer experience.

Alex Grant, chief executive of Intix, said: “This is a game changer for events, previously they would have to order and pay for payment devices for door sales and now they can just use their phones.

“It’s so easy to use. We have already rolled this technology out for existing clients with great success. All events using Intix will now have access to this product.”

The technology also helps to increase security according to Intix, as mobile payment apps encrypt data and utilise other security measures to keep personal and financial information safe when making a transaction online.

Grant added: “The world of technology is constantly evolving, and payment processing is no exception. With events being catapulted into the digital world during COVID, event organisers need an effective and secure way to accept payments quickly and easily.”

At present, the mobile payment offering is only available through Android smartphones in Australia.
