Ticketmaster introduces custom app platform Ignite

Ticketmaster has launched a new platform to enable partners to easily customise their mobile app to support their own fans’ ticketing experience.

Ignite has been introduced to create a customised experience for Ticketmaster partners, from how a fan discovers upcoming events and purchases tickets, to scanning and beyond.

The platform works by offering teams, artists and venues the opportunity to build on Ticketmaster’s technology, while also having the ability to tailor the fan experience. Ignite utilises an easily integrated software development kit (SDK) that partners can use to enable pre-built features, as well as the option to build custom solutions.

Ignite can help deliver a number of features to fans such as directions, mobile ordering, additional ticketing actions, venue vouchers, food and beverages, next events, sponsorships, parking and ride-share, commemorative ticketing, and meet and greets.

Major League Soccer team DC United is the first partner to debut an enhanced fan app, powered by Ignite. DC United’s new app now allows fans to search for and purchase tickets directly within the app, which has also been redesigned with the club’s team logo and brand colours.

Ticketmaster has been working alongside developer Yinzcam, a member of the ticketing company’s Nexus Partner Network, to build custom modules that help fans view the team schedule, upcoming events at the venue and shop DC United merchandise. DC United has also incorporated a number of pre-built features that have made it easier to deliver tickets directly to fans’ mobile wallets, receive directions to the venue and purchase seat upgrades.

Fans are able to log into the DC United app, search for games or look for special events at the club’s home stadium Audi Field, view interactive seat maps and purchase tickets. Tickets are then automatically saved to their mobile devices, with fans able to tap and go to enter the stadium using the ticket’s rotating barcode. If fans feel like a last minute seat upgrade, they can easily scroll down to the module within the app.

Ignite is set to be rolled out across North America by Q3 this year, with the EMEA and APAC regions to follow in Q4 and Q1 of 2024.
