Liverpool’s digital transformation partner

Liverpool FC has signed a multi-year deal with Orion Innovation to become the club’s official digital transformation partner.

Through the deal, Orion Innovation will partner with LFC as it continues to innovate digitally and further connect its global fan base to the club. Through its Sports Innovation Lab, the New Jersey-headquartered business has developed solutions for the sports industry, including a platform for sports operations, enhanced fan experience, and gameday management.

Speaking about the new partnership, LFC’s senior vice-president for digital, Drew Crisp, said: “As a club we have an aggressive plan to continue on our digital transformation journey to elevate our fan experience. Orion will be a great long-term partner in our ever-evolving and progressing digital journey.”

Orlando Magic’s Innovation Challenge

The NBA’s Orlando Magic has revealed plans for its third annual Magic Innovation Challenge at Amway Center in early 2024.

The weekend will offer developers, students, marketers, startup enthusiasts, graphic artists and sports business professionals the opportunity to pitch new, innovative ideas and hear from some of the top minds in the sports technology field. Participants will be given a general business challenge and then be tasked with forming a team to create solutions.

The challenge, running from January 21-23, will offer participants the opportunity to interact with potential customers, get training in innovation methodology and have expert mentors to assist with the presentation that will be pitched to a panel of judges on the last day of the weekend.

Fans warm to new Harry Potter experience

Neon, a global experience entertainment company, and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Themed Entertainment have announced the opening of Harry Potter: Visions of Magic at the Odysseum in Cologne, Germany.

The new experience, which takes visitors on a journey into the Wizarding World, sold more than 130,000 tickets ahead of the opening day on December 8.

A 3,000 sq m immersive art experience, Harry Potter: Visions of Magic features stunning multi-sensory displays created by combining innovative acoustics, bold architecture, and responsive video content, while interactive technology allows guests to bring their magical dreams to life.

Booking platform AmptUp signs with Portland venues

AmptUp, the all-in-one live music booking platform, has signed the first of its venues in the US city of Portland. Among the inaugural VIP partners are Artichoke Music and Alberta Abbey, two live music establishments deeply rooted in the city’s local music scene.

AmptUp aims to lighten the load for venues by simplifying and streamlining the booking process so talent bookers can focus on curating strong lineups that fill seats.
